The ill fated joust never got past the first round.
After Dame Angelica Baptiste was successful against the Blue Knight in a fine match of horsemanship and sportsmanship, Sir Aeris Inniviere was pitted against House Moore's the Scourge.
Sir Aeris showed up to the list without a helmet in an attempt to bait the monster, his fair hair and handsome face wearing a maddening smirk. Each blow of the men fell heavy and hard and spared no expense in blood, but in the end, despite a blow that hit the bullseye to Sir Aeris' shoulder and chest area, the heir to the Inniviere legacy stuck to his saddle, insuring victory!
As in years past Sir Vladimir Black was completely unhinged by rage and raced to the nearest Inniviere men at arms, killing one before Dame Angelica interposed her warhorse between he and them, just as Lord Zlakto Moore simply called 'enough'.
But the Watch was heavily stacked in the Inniviere's favor and with the help of Skarre of the Cult of Ancient's spell, Vladimir was subdued, surely saving the arena more bloodshed.
He is set to be tried by the Council.
But the Law can easily be swayed to favor the bastard son of Moore, and the flames of war, whatever the verdict, can be easily fanned into a conflagration.
One thing leaves people puzzed though; Why did the Griffon Knight enter the tent of Sir Aeris after the Scourge's arrest? To offer healing? And why did she leave with her golden hair unbound to mount her griffon after picking up a single pebble? A memento perhaps, of dreams unfulfilled or dreams realized?
