A lot of people are wondering and speculating on what House Inniviere are up to. It is known that Sir Aeris Inniviere was responsible for executing three Nergulites that had attempted to set fire to the Hive and, in the company of Inquisitor Noel, proclaimed that the worship of the Conjurer was now illegal in Doltenbran. Plus the Watch was going to be empowered by the Council of Four to deal with 'reckless acts of the Arcane'. Unfortunately, there was no definitions of what they meant by 'recklessness'.
Guards having the power to deal with arcanists? Everyone knows they're in the Inniviere's back pockets. Plus ... guards? What do they know about the arcane?
Also, is this an attempt by the Inniviere to grab more power for themselves by cosying up to the Church. Inquisitor Noel said that the Church were only advising but is this the first crack of the door that will allow the Inquisition into Doltenbran?
In related news, it was also announced that His Grace, the Bishop of Anvarol, had died from the tainted dust that was inhaled when the Monolith was destroyed. The Lord Marshall is acting in his stead until a new Bishop can be elected. So far, Crast has not nominated himself.
Speculation is rife .......

*Sir Leander Tristan Moore can be heard speaking his mind on this news of what House Inniviere is doing.* The people of Doltanbran must be carefull of what Sir Aeris is doing. He forgets his house is one part of the council of Four. As for the Church of Anvarol with their help still can't be trusted. Yes we have both helped save each other , but in the end we must still be carefull. I know most don't trust my house due to that we had a man by the name of Scourge do the biding of our Lord, but you can't trust a house who has a man known as The Betrayer. *and with that the noble goes on about his business.*

"I should point out to Sir Tristan that sweeping generalizations are not permissible in logic." states Loremaster Phillip Gaelan, with a grin. Sometimes it's fun needling Tristan. "Just because there is one Betrayer in a House does not logically follow that all of the House are Betrayers .... however, I will agree that this recent development does provoke concern."
"The use of the word abuse .. without defining what abuse means, is itself open to abuse as it can be defined as anything that the accuser does not like. I really hope that this is confined to magic that is both ... erm .... overt and destructive, anything that causes danger to life and property. The Arcane is merely a tool. Treat the spell as if it was a sword and then decide if it was wielded for good or ill. If the situation is ambiguous, replace the spell with a weapon and see if it still catagorises as abuse." "I can only hope that rational thinking prevails, but I would urge upon all arcanists to be discrete with the Art for at least until proper laws can be drafted. I would also urge discretion as I believe that the Weave is still fragile ..... the Red Star of the Conjurer still shines and the Son and his .. erm ... allies .. are still out there. We all should be vigilant in our own ways."

On hearing of the tales of Sir Phillip's comments, perhaps even defensively of Sir Tristan, Sir Garret Farrow pointedly suggests some 'mere tools' should not be used in and of themselves. Like conjuring demons, raising undead, or torture and mutilation.
